O.K. Hotel for the Expedia price.
The heat/airconditioning fan made alot of noise; the T.V. reception was poor ( I did report this, someone did come to the room, but nothing was fixed ). I had no desk or deskchair in my room. The phone charges are astronomic. The Custom House restaurant was wonderful; smart service, great food, pricey but worth it. Staff were all very nice. Mixed feeling about the place. I was at the hotel for six nights.

Nice personal hotel
We stayed at the Blake in late Sept. The staff knew who we were within minutes. Gave us good suggestions for local dining. The room was nicely decorated, certainly not standard hotel issue! The only trouble we had was with the floor lamps. I think they were supposed to be "touch" lamps but the only way to turn them off was by unplugging them! We will go back to the Blake on our next visit. Right downtown, close to the library, transit, restaurants. Great staff.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
We had Chicago City Passes and CTA transit passes. It was nice to not have to drag my wallet or change out every time we turned around. I dont know if the City Pass really saves any money - but it lists all the things you might want to see, has maps, hours etc in a small booklet. Then when you get to the attraction its just walk on in! We have used City Pass and transit passes in San Francisco with the same results.
