Great Bed, But...
Susan, Mchenry Oct 10, 2008
The bed was very firm, but the shower rod kept falling down when you took a shower and the footstool in the room fell into 2 ... pieces if you tried to move it. The hotel is located right on the expressway, so you hear the traffic all the time. The breakfast that they provide is good if someone puts the food out and keeps refilling it. It looks like they are in the process of remodeling the pool are because it has been freshly painted but all the trim work has been removed. The staff was not super friendly. The 2 hot tubs that they have are very nice.

Came in late and left after breakfast. Complimentary buffet breakfast better than most motels provide. Staff was very ... accomodating. Picked me up at the airport promptly and delivered me to a business location the next morning. Room was small but entirely adequate for a short overnight stay. Overall a satisfactory experience and good value.

Disappointing
Anonymous Sep 1, 2008
The Plaza Inn in ABQ was much more rundown than I expected. We were on the Garden Floor, which was their euphemism for ... basement. As the motel was on a hill there was a sliding glass door that opened on to a grassy area with a few picnic tables and rickety looking chairs and was bounded by a waist high block wall behind which was a large vacant lot and then the interstate (I-25). I wouldn't have minded this so much except that the sliding glass door seemed flimsy and easy to break into--so I didn't feel completely safe at night. My 7 year old daughter loved being in the basement however saying that it made her feel like she was a princess trapped in a dungeon. One elevator was out of commission for our stay, but this didn't matter much as we only had to walk one floor down using the stairs. The bathroom wasn't completely clean when we arrived (something on the toilet seat and on the wall by the toilet paper roll--not a stain), which was unpleasant. On the positive side, The bed was very comfortable and the people were relatively friendly. The continental breakfast was fine. Freeway access was close to the hotel.

There is a restaurant called the Range which is slightly Northeast of the Plaza on Menaul Blvd. The decor is fun and funky and the food is really fresh and delicious (New Mexican fare along with sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.)

Convenient

Very convenient if need to stay close to airport. Quicker to walk to hotel from airport than to wait for their shuttle (for ... example, after returning rental car and not having any bags to lug).

Professional Staff
Wilma, Pasadena, CA Jul 25, 2008
The Plaza Inn staff was very professional, e.g., the employees providing the schuttle service to and from the Amtrak station, ... the front desk personnel was extremely helpful, and the housekeeping crew was understanding when I requested a late check-out. Over the past 20 years I have stayed at the Plaza Inn numerous times and I always enjoy my stay there. I particularly appreciate the schuttle service that is provided.

Great place to stay
Denise Jun 9, 2008
I was very excited to see there was 2 hot tubs on the property (inside and outside). This gave more peace and quiet if there ... were alot of kids in the pool. Also more space for adults to hot tub. I used the pool and it's temperature was quite comfortable. I also liked the popcorn maker in the dining area for a snack while waiting for others or watching TV. The hotel shuttle picked us up from the airport and took us to our rental car. The hotel is very centrally located with easy access. We had a great stay in Albuquerque and enjoyed visiting New Mexico.
The hotel is just a block off Lomas. Lomas runs parallel to hwy 40 and is a main street thru Albuquerque. There are many places to eat and shop.

Great for the cost

We stayed here while attending a wedding. We were basically concerned about the cost and wanted to find something cheap yet ... comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Not only was in cheap, but the staff was very helpful, the room was very clean, and the complimentary food was great!

Room could have been cleaned alittle better. We never had enough wash cloths in our room. One night we only had one. The ... shuttle service was awesome. The gentleman came early on our day of departure to take several of us to the airport for a very early flight.

I enjoyed this hotel. The pool was great for the kids, the room was comfortable and breakfast was alright. I brought my 87 ... year old mother-in-law on this short visit and there were only 2 handicap parking spots. That was rediculous. Overall the parking was just not adequete for as many people were there.

My review of Plaza Inn Albuquerque
Anonymous Feb 16, 2008
The Albuquerque Plaza Inn is well situated close to downtown/old town and the Interstate. I'm not fastidious when it comes ... to hotels but the room was adequate for the little time that I actually spent in the room. Many of the light bulbs were burned out and the room layout wasn't that good. The easy chair faced away from the TV. The hotel was adequate for my needs, reasonably priced, and the staff were pleasant enough. I would stay there again.
UNM and all its amenities is nearby. Downtown is nearby - all walking distance for a serious walker.
